QUICK APOLOGY GUYS

sam-winchester-cries-during-sex:

I had no idea what When September Ends was about so please DO NOT send ANY tweets to Billy Joe Armstrong telling him to wake up or anything, he’s specifically asked people not to make jokes about it since the song was about his father’s passing
Once again I apologize, so please don’t make the same mistake I did

When you discuss the wage gap, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Only white women make $0.77 to a man’s dollar.
  • Black women make about $0.68 to a man’s dollar.
  • Latina women make about $0.58 to a man’s dollar.

Intersectionality matters.

I will keep reblogging this to point out that disabled people, including men, make 22 cents on the dollar. Mostly because it is legal to pay us below minimum wage, but whatevs.

I’m surprised when any book is banned or challenged, but the continual obsession with challenging The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian absolutely stupefies me. That book has the tamest sexual content I’ve ever seen. I’m stunned people can find anything to object to.

They banned a book about soldiers for profanity?  What’s next, a soldier’s right to breathe?

It’s almost like they’re banning everything that doesn’t fit into their fantasy worldview of a perfect little world where everything is just perfect and OK.

Most adults are stupid like that. They don’t want children learning about the real world because they think kids aren’t smart and can’t handle things that might happen later on in their lives.

HOW DARE THEY BAN A BOOK LIKE SPEAK. HOW CAN THEY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO BAN A BOOK THAT COULD POTENTIALLY HELP SURVIVORS AND SHED LIGHT ON HOW DAMAGING SEXUAL ASSAULT IS. HIGH SCHOOL IS A TIME OF SIGNIFICANT GROWTH AND PERIL, AND THEY ARE DENYING THESE YOUNG PEOPLE A CHANCE TO LEARN FROM A BOOK LIKE THAT. I HOPE TO SOMEDAY SPIT ON THE GRAVES OF PEOPLE WHO PROMOTE CENSORSHIP.

Where are these books banned? I graduated high school this spring and at least 3 of these books were part of mandatory reading in English class. Plus I saw another post of banned books and have been made to read some of the books on that list too. I’m in California so maybe books are banned on a state by state basis?

Dude, TTYL and it’s sequels are fucking great and funny and just seem so god damn relatable, why the hell is it a banned book???
